Press Release
Licensing Procedure Opens for Applications
Licensing Office
The Licensing Office of the Communications Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network today began accepting applications for allocations of Network channels and for licences to operate transmitting equipment. Applications are made by email and are examined against the Register of Allocations and the certification of the equipment named in them.
The Department will decide a complete application within twenty working days of acknowledging it. Applications for temporary allocations, which are made for exercises, events and trials of no more than thirty days, will be decided within five working days so that the intended period is not lost. No fee is charged for an allocation or a licence.
Applications received before the Department was established have been carried forward and recorded in the register as pending. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email, and every decision is recorded in the register. The full procedure, the terms of each class of allocation and the equipment categories that require certification are published on the Department's website under Licensing.
