Broadcast Schedule

The public broadcasting service of the Velocity Interoperability Network is carried on the six Class D channels in Band VI according to the schedule below. The schedule was confirmed by the Communications Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network on 6 September 2026 and applies on every day of the week. Times are stated in Network time. The schedule will be reviewed after its first three months of operation, and any change to it will be carried as a notice of change before it takes effect.

The service carries three bulletins a day, each summarising the press releases issued by the departments of the Network since the previous bulletin, together with fixed windows for official announcements, notices of change and the proceedings and decisions of Network institutions. Emergency notices are not confined to the schedule: they are carried on channel D2 at the time of issue and take precedence over all other programming on every channel of the service.

Where an official announcement is issued outside the three announcement windows it is carried on channel D1 at the time of issue and repeated in the next window. Notices of change are carried in both windows on each day between their receipt and the date on which the change takes effect. What each programme may carry, and the rules that apply to every announcement, are set out under Broadcasting.

Submission deadlines. Departments and institutions wishing to have material carried in a particular programme should submit it to the Department by the deadline shown. Material received after the deadline is carried in the next programme of the same kind. Bulletins are compiled by the Department from press releases published on departmental websites and do not require submission, but a department may draw the Department's attention to a release it wishes to have included.

Relay by members. Members may relay the service on their own channels so that it reaches every part of their operations. The following conditions apply to every relay.

Carriage in full
A member relaying the service carries the schedule in full and in the order in which it is broadcast. Announcements, notices and bulletins may not be edited, abridged, reordered or delayed.
Emergency notices
A relay carries emergency notices at the time of issue on every channel over which the service is relayed, interrupting other programming where necessary.
Identification
A relay identifies the public broadcasting service as its source at the start of each bulletin and at each change of programme.
Channel D6
Members without a suitable channel of their own may relay the service on channel D6 in Band VI, which is held for that purpose. Use of channel D6 is recorded in the Register of Allocations but does not require an application.
Notice of relay
A member relaying the service gives notice to the Department of the channels on which it does so, so that interruptions to the relay can be traced.

The frequencies of the Class D channels are given under Spectrum Allocations. Interference with any channel of the service should be reported under the procedure set out under Interference; it is treated as Category 1 whatever its severity.
